Rome,
Dear
friend(s),
If
you are active
and like nature,
hiking, archaeology,
history, art
and traditional Italian
cuisine, then come on board and join us for
a special Italian adventure.
We
have prepared fascinating and
unusual adventures which consist of beautiful
guided visits of Rome, the Vatican, and a variety
of hikes to historical sites in the countryside
of Lazio, Umbria or Tuscany.
Our
hikes will take you beyond the
average visit
of Rome. We’ll take you to places
unknown to most Italians.
No crowds, just
the beautiful Italian countryside,
culture and the very best food.
Just
imagine
hiking through
a forest on an ancient Roman
road and finding at
the end of the trail the ruins
of a Roman city dating back to 241 B.C. with
its walls still intact, protecting it from hoards of hostile
tribes.
We’ll
take you to Etruscan altars
where the ancestors of the Roman
empire used to pray to their gods Tigna, Uni
and Menerva. On this trip we’ll see Etruscan
and Roman tombs, ruins of medieval churches, monasteries and
castles.
Our
walking tours offer an untraditional
approach taking you back in time.
We’ll discover
some of the clues that the past has left behind and consider
together the precious remains
of glorious civilizations.
The
adventure doesn’t end here, though. Each evening we’ll
complete our day by dining in selected restaurants
where we will enjoy the combinations
of food and wine and discover new tastes.
We
are looking forward to seeing you on our hikes in 2007!
